Okay, this is where we start collecting important ideas and value them by importance in our point of view:

Really needed:

  • a COOL textfile that shows the improvements with recommendations etc. LIKE:
    • "AQ2-TeamDeathmatch developer Maniac and testers strongly recommend using friendly fire!" - serveradmins should disable teamkill kickbanning. It is punishment enough for teams that their frags get decreased.
  • Somehow, weaponchoice often is pistol only. So: Weapons should spawn more than only once for a game ... and if someone dies, only his current weapon should be dropped. And dropped weapons, that are not the spawnplace should disappear after a given amount of time. Let it define.
  • Ammo spawns too slowly.. let us define a spawntime. M4 advantage is gone after seconds - when ammo is depleted
    • <Maniac-> -item_respawn, weapon_respawn & ammo_respawn cvars to define respawn time when dropped. defaults: item 59, weapon 74 & ammo 30.
  • An Idea on how to get health.. true teamdeathmatch always had some possibility to gain health. hmm.. Or no idea at all?


Could improve:

  • bonus-frags when doing many frags in a row should be gone in TDM
  • Damage count can be shown after the match is over in the console. (damage given, received).
    • in this order: Frags, Deaths, Playername, Time, Ping, Team
  • count down on resuming match with nice female taunt sounds 5..4..3..2..1.. ACTION. (or no ACTION, since there is no single .wav for it.)
  • allow to set a maximum respawn-delay .. but default it to 5 seconds (force respawn after fifth second)
  • allow to use another pause in the last 10 seconds of a pause. Remind them: "Only 10 seconds left to resuming the game! You can extend the pause, if you have any pauses left." or similar.


Nice to have:

  • Because frags count problem when over 100 frags scoreboard needs some tweak. With 4on4 we will easily hit that limit. Hmm any idea or tweak?


Spelling mistakes:

  • No need to pause when match isnt going -> make it: "You need a pause? You have it already! There is no game, lol at you." :) or similar.

from Really needed:

  • bugfix: floodprotection chat counter misbehaving when game is paused.
  • bugfix: when a captain leaves the team, the team should get unlocked - on old matchmode the round got played until the end and all was ok since ppl had enough time to chose a new captain. So pls unlock when captain leaves the team.
  • Playerspawnsounds!



from Could improve:

  • bug: after 20 minutes passed and the match is over, total played time always is 0:00.
  • set default minum respawn-delay to 2 seconds
  • make some additional rcon command to allow gameserveradmins to reset scores, timers, teamlocks and everything that is needed to start a game !without! changing map. :)
  • Remove damage count from scoreboard and show Deaths instead.

  • Game is already paused - not allready. :)
